DIAMOND IN DARUFF BCN

A talent showcase that features promising Hip-hop artists emerging in Barcelona.

The aim is to spotlight urban talent and offer the artists a platform to express and showcase their creativity.

DIAMOND IN DARUFF BCN is neither an open mic nor a rap battle and it is also not a competition. It serves as an opportunity for artists with a repertoire substantial enough to keep the stage and the audience engaged.

We invite you to join us on Thursday March 7th, 2024 at La Nau, for an exclusive night of live Hip-hop, human connection and support for independent artists and the urban culture in Barcelona.

SOLOMANE

Self-made man Franco-Moroccan rapper, singer, and beat-maker since 2015. Having lived successively in Brussels, Paris, Lyon, Orlando, Tangier, and since 2017 in Barcelona, Solomane is a stage-oriented performer capable of rapping in French as well as in English, Spanish, or even Arabic. A lover of the golden age of New York rap, and influenced just as much by today’s trap, as by reggaeton, Latin music, soul-R&B, and traditional music, the polyglot artist wishes to mix all his influences with lively lyrics on catchy melodies.

BABY MIKE

Born in Sweden to a Danish mother and an African American Black Panther activist, the introspective rapper found his true love for Hip-hop spending a lot of his childhood years with his sister in New York City. He consumed himself with the music, style and culture that the streets of Harlem had to offer. He then moved to Spain with nothing but cash in his pocket. During a dark period of his life Baby Mike recorded and released his debut album Buried alive which was released on September 28, 2018. Part of what the media outlet Mass Appeal describes as “The Swedish Invasion”, Baby Mike broke out summer of 2017 with his debut single Wicked Games amassing half a million streams and peaking #1 on Spotify Sweden’s Viral Charts.

JO HARRIS

An African-American producer, bass player, singer, rapper, and songwriter from Greensboro, North Carolina. He composes soulful, modern atmospheres accompanied by heavy-floating basslines. His influences shaped his wild taste in music, from the fundamentals of gospel music to the Motown Era and Funk to modern Hip Hop. Living since 2016 in Barcelona, Spain, Jo Harris is creating a bridge of love between the U.S. and Europe, between music genres and people from different backgrounds.



KING YANZ will be our headliner.

The Finnish-born, Congolese, UK-raised hip-hop artist. Yanz, also known as King Yanz started making music years ago following his brother, Marteysowavey’s footsteps. Musical influences include rap legends such as 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Pop Smoke, and AJ-Tracey. Yanz’s dynamic range and unique way of combining, old-school rap, UK drill, and grime with conscious hip-hop is thought-provoking. The lyrics leave a lasting impression and personal storytelling is where he truly excels. Shying away from the stereotypical drill culture and rap lyrics, Yanz has managed to keep the sound authentic while staying true to his individual style.
