ANGELO ROMANO (cantautor)

Born 1982 in a small-sized town in Western Sicily, Angelo Romano has lived also in Italy, Canada, Netherlands and Germany. A talented acoustic guitarist and singer-songwriter, he is also an inspired storyteller with a bold live presence and a peculiar musical style which cannot easily be labeled but it is clearly inspired by Italian singer/songwriters as well as bluesy and folk sounds with minor electronic influences, all of this melded with an original, and somehow harsh, playing style. His compositions normally cover short stories of his and more abstract themes related to traveling and human relationships.
He has also played extensively around Europe, including a full European summer tour in 2015 with fellow Italian Giovanni Manunta on trumpet that saw Angelo share his stories to a wider audience in Belgium, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, and a small Dutch tour together with fellow singer/songwriter Oliver Hasse (The Night Gardener) in June 2015.
His most recent release, named "The Last Pacifist", was published on 18 December 2015, and it will be followed by a solo European tour in January and February 2016 to promote it. The new release, a concept album on the themes of peace, love, traveling and discoverings, is a significant shift in Angelo's music style, with synthesizers fully entering into its songs and two songs entirely in his native Sicilian language, and also the presence of Spanish cellist Laura Sánchez on all of its songs.
