KING PUG (Blues / Groove / Rock)

Indie-Blues-Rock duo King Pug was a project started by hyperactive English guitarist, singer,
producer and songwriter Dave Wilkinson as an outlet for a back catalogue of songs that didn’t
seem fit with his other various musical incarnations. Heavily based in the blues with driving
rhythms provided by fellow country man Caspar St. Charles, King Pug could be compared to
The Black Keys and The White Stripes due to their duo format… if you were lazy! But with a
British touch notable in Wilkinson’s voice and writing, and a long, varied career as session
musicians, the duo certainly add their own flavour to the mix, enough to carve them their own
niche in the “power duo” scene.

Their debut E.P. “Borneo Mint Shave” was written, produced, mixed and mastered by Wilkinson
in his own “D.I.Y.” studio and and released on Black and Tan Records in The Netherlands.

A 3 track EP titled “Water Pressure” was released on Black and Tan just 2 months after their
debut. Recorded and produced again by front man Dave Wilkinson these 3 new tracks see
a groovier and even grittier side to King Pug

King Pug have received a very positive response around Europe since their birth in July 2013
including independent radio play in France, Belgium, Holland, Greece,
Germany, UK, Denmark and in the US. Also “Doggy Talk” from the band’s first E.P. was included on the compilation record “Pop and Rock Station by Zegut Vol. 3″ on Warner Music, France along side bands such as Coldplay, ZZ Top, The Cure, Isaac Hayes, David Bowie and more.

In December 2014 their first full length record “Grocery” was released and the band have plans to play live in 2015.

“The sound is raw, rough and ragged – which is just perfect for this gritty, distorted, rockin’ and
groovin’ blues approach… if you enjoy the modern blues sound, do check this out.” – Blues In
